I am a Christian Brother living in Dublin, Ireland. I am the Coordinator of Advocacy and Justice for the Congregation of Christian Brothers. I am also an executive officer of Edmund Rice International, an NGO promoting social justice and human rights.
This blog documents news, musings and reflections about my work
and happenings throughout the world. Most of what I learn about
what is happening in the world comes from colleagues who belong to
the global Edmund Rice community.
I am an avid reader of the London Independent, one of the
most articulate and committed news sources on global issues. I am
also a consumer of podcasts on social justice and ecological
themes. UNICEF
offer a daily podcast on children's issues. Another fascinating
podcast is Melvyn Bragg's weekly offering on BBC Radio 4, In Our
Time.
When I am not writing, travelling, cooking, praying, or working on this website, I can usually be found most afternoons in the West Coast coffee shop on Dublin's Camden Street. It is a wonderfully convivial place that welcomes the vegetable stall sellers, the local creative types, and construction workers from the many building sites around. And, yes, they serve good coffee. Do call in there some day if you are passing!
